My CPU has recently been locked at a constant 70-80C (80 usually) at idle, but the rest of the system seems to be at 30-40C according to speedfan and core temp. (My Cpu used to be usually at 40-60C Idle depending on what I'm doing). When I try to edit videos in my various video editors, the video preview will lag and have frame drops or plays sporadically, encoded videos maintain this behavior, but videos viewed online or on media players remain fine, so I think this is a CPU issue. The videos never have issues on playback in media players.
A friend of mine told me it might be something wrong with the CPU (they agreed with me) and that the CPU is probably too hot to function properly, so what I'm going to do is clean my computer free of dust (I think its pretty dusty, this might be the cause, as the video editing issue only happened very recently) and then check to see if the issue is still around.
Or is it something else? Is my CPU becoming faulty??? I leave my PC on constantly when I'm away from home to run tasks. Please, help me troubleshoot the cause, list the most likely reason for my workflow having this annoying issue. (In numbered form if possible). Also, if it is the dust screwing things up, how do I safely get rid of it?
Thank you.
