Hi,

I just put together a new system with a z87 and a core-i5.

Everything went fine until I tried to connect to the internet.

My tp-link 4800 isn't even being recognized by the system. It's not in the device manager, nor is the light being lit up.

I've tried placing it in different pci-e slots but it still won't turn on.

Does this motherboard have problems with pci-e cards?

Am I going to have to get a usb wireless adapter?

Solution
That TPlink is not going to work without the software.

I would get a USB wifi working, and at least be able to do the Windows updates. There is a chance that with the updates, it will take the software for the TPlink.

I used my laptop to download the latest drivers to a usb. When I tried to install the drivers onto the pc it says I do not have a compatible adapter. Is there a way to force install the drivers?

I did manage to install the TP-Link utilities but there are no adapters listed in the dropdown.
