  1. There really is no 'best' processor for gaming. Some do better with certain games, while falling short with others. The consensus is pretty much that anything over an i5 for strictly 'just gaming' is overkill, though, as the performance gain per cost will be minimal. I'd recommend the i5 4690K as the best gaming processor at it's price point, though others may disagree.
  2. Will that i5 be better than the i7 4790k? I'm getting the i7 for my build. I will game and do stuff I would do with a normal pc
  3. The CPU matters little compared to GPU, but hey, here's the most powerful one: Intel Xeon E5-2699

The i5 is not better than the i7, however, you won't utilize the i7 to its full potential if you're just gaming much less the Intel Xeon E5-2699 .

For gaming an i5 4690K performs almost the same as an i7 4770K. So save money and get a good graphics card like a GTX 970.

  5. I searched that Xeon but I don't understand how it's the most powerful? The website says it's only 2.30 GHz. (Sorry I'm a noob)
  6. i5 4690k is a best gaming CPU atm, price-performance. If you want to spend more i7 4790k is the way to go.
  7. CPU and GPU are equally important.

A fast cpu but slow gpu bottlenecks at the gpu, and vice versa.

Too bad PCGH did not release any recent material but take a look at this (its in german, but green = good and red = bad):

So depending on your gpu of choice ... a matching cpu.
