So i'm looking at these 2 CPU's because I've been given a very good deal on both.

They both cost the same.

I want to know which performs better for gaming?

On one hand the 3350P is a higher generation up, so that would theoretically mean it would perform better.

However on the other hand, the 2500 is running at 0.20Ghz higher.

Which is better?

you could run 1600Mhz ram with the sandy bridge aswell. The memory controller on the ivy bridge just assures every ram will work that runs at 1600Mhz.That doesn't mean that it wont run higher.Have you seen people running 1866Mhz-2133Mhz RAM with Ivy Bridge or Sandy Bridge? It works the same.I am currently running a G1610 ivy bridge with kingston furyx at 1866Mhz
