Obviously, the more expensive one if going to be better, but how much better and is it worth it? The 2 Fans are the Zalman CNPS5X Performa and the Zalman CNPS10X Optima. If you could tell me if there is any real difference between these 2 fans for cooling a AMD FX 8350 8 Core 4.0ghz

Main difference is that the 10x optima has a larger fan at a lower speed so it's less noisy while moving the same amount of air, also having a bigger heatsink it will dissipate heat much faster than the 5x performa.

FX CPUs get hot really fast, so that bigger heatsink is really welcomed in your case, go for the 10X Optima.

However... for the same price you can get the Evo 212, which even though it's bulkier it seems to be more powerful (would be great if you take a look at some reviews before deciding) and you want a great aftermarket solution for your FX-8350.
