Hi, I got a new gpu (r9290) for christmas and i've been having some problems with it. When I play games it black screens and reboots my PC. I got told that it could be my mobo bios. Currently it's one off being fully updated. I was just wondering if i needed a USB stick to update it? Is there any way to do it without? Like selecting the file from my HDD? I also wanted to know if i could use this - http://www.three.co.uk/static/images/device_pages/ModemVersion/ZTE/MF730M/Black/largeimages/large_image_2.jpg - as a USB to update my bios if i clear all the files from it? Thanks

Just read something about a bios updater tool? How would I use that? Thanks

The OS does but the BIOS won't likely, It won't hurt to try but it probably won't work.
Also you linked a picture of a USB device in the first post, but i can't tell if that's actually...

It must be locked or something as it was sent by 'Three' as it's a mobile networking device

Why would I not be able to use the mini SD one? It recognises it as a usb mass storage device?

It's a wireless adapter but i thought it might be able to be used as a USB. Oh so if i put the file on the mini SD and it gets recognised by the BIOS then i'm good to go? It won't break it will it?
Just checked and I think the bios recognised it - said there was a device without a name in the d: am I able to use is without breaking my PC then? Thanks

Well, a bios update COULD break your computer, thats why I cautioned against using the microSD one. But if it recognizes there's a bios file on the microSD card I guess you can use it.

Yeah, and USB is just a connection type, so just because it plugs into a USB doesn't mean it's a USB flash drive.
