I've recently installed windows on my new computer and I want to make it wireless. However when I go to connect nothing appears on the first slide.

This is most likely me being dumb since this is my first personal computer that I own with windows 8. I've just being going through and i've found Ethernet (Which is not what I want) and VPN where I can add a VPN connection. I've already got a wireless modem and have other computers running wirelessly on it so that's no problem.

But what do I do to connect it to my network? Do I add a VPN connection?

You haven't said what the computer is(laptop/desktop, specs) but, if it is a desk top, most likely it didn't come w/ wireless, just ethernet. in That case you'll need to buy a wireless card for inside the computer, or a USB wireless adapter to plug into a usb port.

It's a desktop, yes. Sorry I didn't add that in.
