I'm getting a new rig for games - had a mac for quite a while now and have been out of the loop, so getting a pc so I can get back to proper gaming.

It's a Chillblast Fusion Probe Configured as such;

-Intel Core i7 4790K Haswell Refresh Processor 4.0 GHz (Overclocked to up to 4.4GHz)
-Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI M-ITX Motherboard - Haswell CPU only
-16GB Corsair/Crucial/Samsung PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 Memory (2 x 8GB sticks)
-Chillblast NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Graphics Card
-250GB Samsung 840 EVO Solid State Drive
-2TB 7200RPM Hard Disk - 6Gbps
-Blu-Ray ROM / DVD-RW Combi Drive

Do you think it'll be pretty capable of running most things at a high spec? I think it looks pretty decent but its been so long since I've looked at the specs of a computer that I can be sure.

Do you think its worth paying the extra for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 over the 70? In the benchmarks I've seen online it normally only pushes a few extra fps out, nothing major - but I'd like the rig to be pretty future proof, lasting a good 3/4 years before a major upgrade.

Thanks for all you help!

Obviously the GTX 980 due to it being newer, but it's really not worth the extra 5-10 frames. Probably not even that.

Thanks for your input! What's your position, if you have one, on the GTX 980 vs. the 970?
