Setting up a static IP for the PS4

Currently I have the NAT Type 3. Obviously this is a problem and I am trying to fix it, I am using the Netgear WNDR4300 router and when I try to simply input the information I see from connection status in the settings of the PS4 to input into these boxes ( http://imgur.com/klQZxYH ) it will say invalid destination IP address. I've tried making my own static IP but it still won't work. Any help with making my existing IP address for PS4 static? Please have a netgear, most other routers have a different way to input a static IP.

Thanks :)

What is the modem make/model? Who is your ISP? If it is a modem-router combo and you are using it with the Netgear, it's possible you have double NAT.

If it's strictly a modem, then putting it in bridge mode could prevent a strict NAT. Some modems do not allow bridge mode though.

The image you posted is for setting up a static route, not a static IP.

If you need a static IP for the PS4, it needs to be done on the PS4 itself (Settings page). Just be sure to choose an IP address outside of the router's DHCP range.

The best way to fix a NAT problem is to put the IP address in the routers DMZ. The router will reassign the IP address to a device unless the device has been non active for super long, so there usually isn't a need to assign a static IP. depending on the router you may be able to reserve the IP for the PS4.

I reserved the IP for my PS4 already, but for some reason I've port fowarded everything now to the correct IP/ports and still have a NAT type 3.
