Hello

I've had this 'problem' with my cpu in these past months. It kept crashing to either blue screen or just freeze, before this I was at 4,7 Ghz 1.35 Vcore, but after the crashing I went down to 4,4 Ghz and 1,38 Vcore or else it wouldn't be stable. Anyways I got some new ram and it helped. Now I'm running on 4,626 Ghz but I'm still stable with 1,4 Vcore and not 1,35 as I was before.

My CPU has been overclocked for a year and 8 months, could it just mean that the CPU is going bad and can't handle the overclocking anymore? Should I use the standard CPU Level up feature with Asus? Or is it something I do not know of?

Under 100% load the temps on the CPU has always been 52-58 C

Specs:
Mobo: Asus rampage IV black edition
CPU: I7 3820
Ram: HyperX Beast DDR3 2400MHz 16GB
Cooling: Corsair H80i

I think it is degradation as well. When I first bought my processor I was able to OC to 4.7 as well, and now I can only get a stable 4.495 MHz @ a 1.384 V Core Voltage.

I try and try to get a 4.5 GHz and even a 4.6 GHz but fail to every time. I am not an OC PRO by any means, and have been reading up this last year but cannot get it to a stable 4.5 or 4.6 GHz OC. My brother has the same exact set up and is running a 4.6 GHz OC for 2 years.

I plan on upgrading to the Intel Core i7-4960X this year in hopes to OC to 5 GHz.
