Hello!
I bought an ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER motherboard one month ago. All in all it's a great motherboard, but I can't figure out what's going on with its CHA_FAN headers.
I've already hooked up my CPU cooler to the CPU_FAN header and everything is alright. The manual says that CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers both have one PWM output each. But the CHA_FAN headers have a +5V output instead. I'm a bit confused, so I have two questions:
(i) I'm about to purchase a PWM fan (NOCTUA NF-A15). If I connect it to a CHA_FAN header, will I be able to control its RPM by PWM? Or I will end up controlling it by voltage (wasting its PWM ability)?
(ii) Which is the minimum RPM percentage I can get in each situation (PWM & voltage controlling)?
Thanks a lot & excuse me as english isn't my mother tongue!
