Hi all, i have posted a few threads a while back considering overclocking and ive tested a few settings. I find that my pc fails to boot ( shuts off before POST/BIOS ) and then has to reset to defaults in order to boot.
I am just checking that I am doing everything correctly.
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP43-DS3R
CPU: Pentium Dual-Core CPU, E6500 ( Wolfdale ).
RAM: Samsung 2GB PC2-6400 ( 400 MHz )
This is what i did.
I changed the System Memory Multiplier to 2.50A ( A for 266 FSB and Higher )
I then increments the CPU's FSB from 266 to about 275, thus leaving the RAM's frequency at 688 Mhz.
The System Failed to boot, then it was able to start, and then failed again.
I only incremented it slighty, so it shouldnt putting too much more stress on the system. What may be the possibly problems. I am using a slightly older 500W PSU, may there not be enough Wattage to output for this?
I have left the CPU Vcore voltage at about 1.27500V, should I increase that?
Many Thanks,
