GTX 780 - 20-30 FPS on BF4

Before you say stuff about CPU Parking and updating Drivers, I've already done it. At first BF4 only got 50 FPS on ultra so I unparked cores and started to get 80-100. This only lasted a few games and it became even worse than before, reaching 20-30 and then 5-15 FPS.

Curiously, when I wiped my drivers and reinstalled the latest ones I had 70-90 FPS for one or two games, then it went back to 20-30. Same happened when I updated my BIOS, good FPS for a game or two and then 20-30 FPS. The FPS stays the same no matter what graphics quality.

Specs:
i5-4670k @ 3.4GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
GTX 780 FTW Edition
Seagate 2TB HDD
Samsung 840 Pro (I have BF4 running off of this, if it matters)
Corsair HX850 PSU
Sabertooth Z87 Mobo

Please check if you have enabled nvidia dynamic super resolution, if so you are effectively running at 4 times your monitor resolution and that is sure to bring any card down to its knees.

Yes it is disabled. I am playing on 1080p 60Hz.

you did say you were running the game off an SSD, how much space do you have left?? did you install the updates to game accidentally on to the HDD due to lack of space?? If the SSD was evo then there was a problem and i'd suggest looking into it, but since its pro the problem is non-existent for pro.
If this doesn't work i'm blank...

There's a little over 70 GB left on the SSD, and everything BF4 related is installed there. I hear Win 8.1 is more optimized for BF4 but I don't want to sink 100+ bucks into false hope.

I don't know whether windows 8.1 would make such an impact, lot of youtube reviewers are still using windows 7 and they don't seem to be getting any issues as such. is your cpu & graphics card running ok, try running few synthetic benchmarks and compare to people with similar setups, is there any thermal throttling issues??
Oh!! So did you clone the drive or just copy the folder from your other computer?? if you cloned the drive then it shouldn't be problem but if you just did copy paste then that is the problem!! you need to reinstall the game!!

Damn, I hoped it wouldn't have come to that. Oh well, I'll just leave it downloading overnight. I will post when I have results, thank you for your help!

you bad bad boy!! that should be the problem!! Firstly, go thru the GeForce Experience and let it choose the optimal settings, see there if the settings seem to be ok or not....if the settings seem good for 780, 1080p should be available with nearly all settings with max, if not change there and if that doesn't work then do a fresh install and then see, it should be running like a champ!

Unfortunately, it didn't work. I'm just barely scraping by 30. I also downloaded BF3 to see if the problem was exclusive to BF4 and that ran at 20-30 FPS too. I think the Frostbite engine doesn't agree with my PC for whatever reason.

do you mind checking that your system RAM is reported correctly by the OS -and- that its running at factory specs (voltage/timings listed on the sticks themselves) in the BIOs, XMP profiles (usuallly #1 is fine) are the easiest way to set this in BIOS.

I changed my XMP profile from Default to 1 and in BF3 I went from 20-30 FPS to 60-80 (Still not up to proper 780 levels, though) and got steady 40-70 in BF4 Multiplayer. In the Testing Range on BF4, though, I got 60-90 FPS. Do you think this FPS might have something to do with my RAM?

BF4 is one of those rare games which take proper advantage of higher speed memory. At least we got some results, would you mind checking and turning off shadow play in the GeForce Experience app if it is on. BTW you never did mention your temps, install cpuz and gpuz and check if there is any thermal throttling issues.

Holy crap, dude. Turning off shadowplay worked. Constant 80-90 FPS on BF4 @ Ultra 1080p and 130-160 FPS on BF3 @ Ultra 1080p. I guess Shadowplay just doesnt agree with the Frostbyte engine. Thanks so much for your help, and sorry you had to put up with me. :D

Not at all, just happy was able to get your rig running the way its meant to be. BTW, I'm super jealous of your rig....my broke ass is running a 4.5 year old laptop, all i can afford at the moment. wish me luck in someday getting a rig of my choice :)
Happy gaming and a happy new year!!
