GTX 970 or R9 290x interms of better performance with i5 4440?

Hi guys can u help me out which GPU i should choose so that i can run the GPU for 3 years with good ultra and very high performance? GTX 970 or R9 290x? The price is same here in my country.what should I choose for the best performance with my processor.

My spec
I5 4440-3.1GHZ
MSI B85 G41
Team Elite RAM 8GB 1600mhz
Cooler Master Thunder 500watt

what if i change the PSU to 750 watt then it would cost 37+8=45K according to my country. and GTX 970 is costing 38K which would be best for me in gaming in terms of performance. i will be running it only on 1080P. i need better performance and fps and everything.so what should I do?

why would i go for a PSU if i choose 970 coz i already have a 500 watt PSU and 450 is perfect for that and recommends 500 so i have that. i guess if i get better performance in 970 then i would stick with 970,if the performance differ slight margin with R9 290x
