I am completely new to pc building. I want only the cpu (the tower), no peripherals or moniter or OS . My budget is 700$ to 800$ tops. The main purpose of this pc is gaming. I will be playing games like bf4, crysis 3, assassin's creed unity, Skyrim with mods, etc. I want all these games to run at least 60 fps+ on high, ultra settings. I know I am asking for too much but that's why I want help because I 've heard many people saying that its possible to build a high end rig in that cost.

These are the two builds I liked the most and confused between them, I just don't know which is better in terms of future proofing and current performance in gaming and I also want make sure that this build last for at least 4 to 5 years.

First build,
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vickypc/saved/bRDhP6

Cpu
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
$214.99

Motherboard
ASRock Z97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
$88.99

Memory
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
$64.99

Storage
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5"7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
$49.99

Graphic card
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
$339.99

Case
Cougar Solution (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
$38.99

Power Supply
CoolMax 600W ATX Power Supply
$29.99

Total including taxes, delivery charges, etc: $827

Now, I want to know whether the mobo, case and the psu is a good one. I've chosen the mobo because it's latest and cheap for the price. I've just picked up the case and psu on ratings, cheap price and company name. If you can suggest a better build or part for my build then please post it. If I get this build then I will be upgrading to i7 4790k for sure. And I'll be overclocking this cpu and i7 in future so i also want that is the psu and mobo good for the overclocking of both the cpus .

Second build
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/vickypc/saved/tLMmP6

CPU
AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core
$132.99

Motherboard
Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+
$88.99

Memory
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
$64.99

Storage
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
$49.99

Video Card
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V
$339.99

Case
Cougar Solution (Black) ATX Mid Tower
$38.99

Power Supply
CoolMax 600W ATX12V
$29.99

Total including taxes and delivery charges : $745

So you see that the only difference between both the builds is of the cpu and motherboards. I've chosen the fx8320 because it can be overclocked to fx8350 stock speeds without any trouble. Secondly, I've heard many people saying that now days games are using 4 cores and will be using more in future so is it true this is the reason I am completely confused between the Intel 4 core and amd 8 core processor so please help me firguring this out.

I also wanted to know that if I go with the first build and then upgrade to i7 in the future then will it beat the fx 8320/8350 in games using 8 cores. And does the hyperthreading used in i7 make it faster than fx 8320/8350 in 8 core games as i7 is having 4 physical cores but hyperthreading makes it 8 logical cores.

If I am wrong in anything in this post than please correct me and thank you for your time.
Any kind of help is appreciated.

Forget about the AMD FX cpus. They are old and there is no reason to start a build with one at this point. The i5 will outperform any of them.

The 1st build is solid except for the psu. That Coolmax is junk. The power supply is THE MOST IMPORTANT part in every build and should not be cheaped out on.

I 've changed the mobo tell me is it good for overclocking and sli as I will put i7 4790k in future
And will also be adding another gtx 970 sli in future. So tell me if it's okay. I will be ocing the cpu a little bit like i5 from 3.5 to 4.0 ghz and i7 from 4.0 to 4.4 ghz. And please suggest me a decent psu I cannot decide which one to choose my budget is around 40$ to 50$.
Thanks for your time.

The i5 4690k already turbos to 3.9ghz so 4.0ghz is only barely an overclock at all, and certainly not worth the money.
The i7 4790k has a base clock speed of 4.0ghz and a stock turbo speed of 4.4ghz.

$40-50 is no where near enough for a good SLI ready psu. You need to double that.

So, it means I'll have to push my budget almost up to 900$. I have a question that if I overclock my i5 4690k up to 4.2ghz or 4.5 ghz what will be the temps of the cpu using stock cooler and hyper 212 evo (considering room temperature as 30 degree Celsius ) and what is the maximum safe temperature for a i5 4690k to operate ?
And what about the mobo (msi z97s sli plus) is it good for ocing and 2 way sli (gtx 970).
Thank you Cturbo for the quick and precise reply.

Thanks for your time.
