I'm switching from an AMD 990FX(AM3+) to the Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150). My new CPU is the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor. I would just like to know what problems could occur, or the best way to make the upgrade. What i would have to do with the BIOS settings ?

All my current hardware is compatible with my new motherboard and CPU. Thanks !

Make a good backup of your data (or 2) and give it a try, if it boots to Win - Win will load default drivers for the new hardware, if that goes well, then load the latest mobo drivers from the web site - the ones on the install disk are likely out of date. Next run a good registry cleaner - Wise has a nice free version. The will have to prob re-Activate Win, which is normally no big deal

The only reason why would you need to go to BIOS settings when switching mobo+CPU would be to change boot sequence of HDD if really needed.

If your system start acting weird, unstable ect. just re-install windows
