I have successfully OC'd my 6300 to 4.5 Ghz and it's stable.

I have not yet bought a gpu for my pc and im looking to buy the GTX970

I will be doing 1080p gaming. I'm looking for 60+fps on high/ ultra on most games.

I know the 970 is a 1440p card but i just want to buy it and leave it for few years.

But do i sacrifice alot of the 970 power cause of the 6300?

Solution
you'll get 60fps solid on 99% of new titles mate (I do at 4ghz)
if you're running a 60htz monitor just vsync every game like I do at ultra
card never gets above 75-80% usage this way & temps are around 60c in gaming
no point running the frames or card any higher imo - keeps my htpc case nice & cool this way
