After installing an AMD fx6300 CPU and the heat sink fan that came along with it, I get a blank screen with monitor in standby mode and the heat sink fan spins very fast and loudly. I tried to reinstall it to make sure no pins were bent and it looked intact.
My old CPU worked fine prior to this but the fan was beginning to slow down and my computer would crash every few hours due to CPU overheating. My mobo is an ASUS crosshair III. Any help is appreciated.
