My old PC died (PSU Failure) and I upgraded to a new PC. I wanted to retrieve the data from my old SATA HD and rather than buy a new PSU, thought I would install it in my new PC. I did this and my new PC won't recognize the old drive. The old drive appears to be operating as I can feel some vibration. The SATA connection to the motherboard (ASUS H81M) is to an Intel H81 serial ATA 3.0GB/s connector (SATA3g). The MB has two of these and two 6.0gb/s (SATA6g). There was only one open MB connector.

Is there something in the BIOS that I need to tweak? I am a BIOS noob. Any help appreciated.

The OS is Windows 8.1
The old drive that is installed is a WD 320gb 16MB Cache.
The new drive is a 1TB Seagate.

what i would do is format the drive remove your current drive or you will lose all your data but follow these instructions and your drive will be wiped clean and should function fine.

http://www.pendrivelinux.com/install-dban-to-a-usb-flash-drive-using-windows/

warning make sure your drive you want to wipe has power and is connected and disconnect the drive you want to keep.

Thanks. It's not showing up in Disk Management
Just:
Disk 0: System reserved, C:\ Boot partition
Disk 1: E:\ Storage partition
Disk 2: USB connected Brother printer
DVD
