Am I getting low FPS?

I'm a bit underwhelmed with the FPS that I'm getting with my high end gaming PC, and I'm wondering if there's genuinely something wrong with my system or of I'm just overestimating the power of my PC. I have a Zotac GTX 980, an intel i5 2500k, and 8gb DDR3 1600 RAM. I recorded benchmarks of BF4 and Metro last light redux with MSI afterburner( the spikes in readings are from gameplay, and the crashes are from when I alt tabbed and took screenshots):

I've seen benchmark videos where people are getting much better results than this, so if I'm correct in thinking that this is lower FPS than I should be getting, any advice as to the problem and how I can fix it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

And the benchmark did show all four of my CPUs working at full capacity, so could it be my CPU? I'll try overclocking/underclocking to see if it makes a difference. Also, I'm going to try my card in my friend's rig and see what FPS I get.
