A recently bought myself a new system and put it together myself cause i have some experience in that already, but i have seen to forgotten that my motherboard supports my cpu only after a update, so now when i turn the system on it shuts down after 1sec (not giving any image but the monitor catches some kind of signal) and restarts by itself after lets say 5 sec, i have seen on the motherboard that it switches then to the 2. bios on the board, and then after it fails to boot again tries the first and so on. I dont think any other components are causing this, so does anyone know can i flash my bios without a cpu or this "unsupported" one?
Specs:
cpu- i7 4790k
psu- xilence 1000w
ram- hyperx fury 8gb
Drives- WD green 1TB
Sandisk ultra 2 240gb
mainboard- gigabyte z87x oc force
cpu cooler- thermaltake performer 3.0

While some boards only require power to flash the bios(Asus's bios flashback for example), yours is not one of them. You'll either need to send it back and get one that supports the cpu out of the box or buy a cheap supported cpu and use it to update the bios. I suggest sending the z87 back and getting a z97 board.
