I need a new pc that can run bf4 on high/ultra at 60-ish fps (1920 by 1080).....but the catch is my budget is around $500. Im not going to be doing any fancy stuff that would require multiple cores. so a list of parts/ links to builds would be nice :D

Solution
With reports of Mantle still being in a sort of half-baked state (stuttering, glitching, etc), we should probably assume DX11 performance for this build...

-------

In DX11 mode:....

Almighty Sofa's build will do ~35FPS minimums in BF4 MP.

Pucky's build will do ~35FPS minimums in BF4 MP.

Jeff Baffalo's build will do ~35FPS minimums in BF4 MP.

esco sid's build will do ~45FPS minimums in BF4 MP.

Gun Fin X's build will do ~25FPS minimums in BF4 MP.

Nice work fellas.

--------

The AMD driver/API software layers are a bottleneck in this game. The only CPU's that can maintain 60ish FPS minimums while running the AMD DX11 implementation in BF4 MP are flagship class stuff from Intel (i7 -4790), often requiring overclocking...

A fancy build that can run bf4 on ultra
CPU- AMD FX-8320;
MOBO- MSI 970 Gaming Edition;
GPU- MSI R9 270X 2GB Gaming Edition;
Ram- just get like 4GB DDR3 or 8 if you have the money to do it;
PSU- XFX Core Edition 550W.

Something like this would definitely run BF4 high/ultra at 60fps.

Couple things you may want to get a better cpu cooler(than stock), motherboard, and powersupply.

On the Intel site the 3258k only supports a maximum of 1333mhz RAM. A little bit extra performance could be obtained with two 4gb modules rather than the one 8gb module.

I went with one 8gb module it leaves the option of buying another stick of 8gb ram in future without wasting 2 4gb sticks.

You're right. I missed that. But I don't agree on getting one stick because upgrading to 16gb on a budget build like the 3258 is kind of pointless and with ram speeds going up 1333 for the future is kind of pointless too. But either way it doesn't change the budget too much. Good luck OP.

The build above is the only posted so far that can maintain at or above 55FPS minimums in BF4 MP.
