I bought G. Skill RAM DDR3-1066 PC3-8500 4096MB x1, CL7-7-7-20 So-DIMM 1.50v and have been trying to use it with my lenovo t430 thinkpad. I wanted to upgrade my installed 4gb so I would have a total of 8. The RAM woudn't work with my installed RAM, so I was told to try the new RAM by itself without the original RAM, but that wasn't any better. To clarify- the computer would turn on (the power light would go on) but I would just get a blank screen (not even the windows loading screen). At first I thought maybe I got a defective card, so I returned it and got a new one, but the new one isn't any better (I tried it with the installed RAM and by itself) and it had the same exact problem. Is it a compatibility issue with the laptop motherboard or did I somehow get two defective RAM cards from G. Skill? Do I have to do anything with the BIOS or computer software in order to make the RAM work (e.g. download a driver?)?
Thanks in advance, let me know if theres any other info I should be supplying.
