Ok few days ago I woke up and my router was off, no lights nothing but still plugged in. So I looked around for another power adapter and found one and got it back on.

Now I'm having issues with connecting to the internet. Modem to Pc works fine. Trouble shooting states it can't connect with device and then says something about DNS in parenthesis. I usually input google DNS servers to connect (8.8.8.8).

I logged into my router page and under Internet setup I also input Google dns. when I go to statues tab I get this:

Should it be all blank like that. Cables connected but not internet. Could this be an issues with modem to router, or just the router itself. Trying to figure out if I need to buy a new one. Right now only my PC has internet and I dearly need WiFi working again.

That status page says that the router recognizes that the cable is plugged in, but it seems like the DHCP request did not succeed. Try the DHCP renew button and see what happens. You will have to keep an eye on it. If it continues to happen you will have to investigate further. Start with a brand new cable between router and modem.

OK, just trying to be sure that the router hadn't lost some DSL login stuff. But with cable, it should be DHCP.

Now, we have the "chicken and egg" problem.... Could be router, could be modem, could be ISP ...

When this situation happens, are all the LEDs on the cable modem still green? This manual gives some insight on the modem.
