I'm interested in purchasing a 500W EVGA PSU and I've found these two for inexpensive prices. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the quality of one PSU suffers in comparison to the other. Here are the PSU's up for debate:

Solution
-The W1 only has one PCI-e connector whereas the B1 has two.
-They both have 40A on the +12v rails...
-Jonnyguru's site gave the B1 an 8.7/10 and the W1 an 8.1/10.
-The W1 is 80+ certified while the B1 is 80+ bronze.

The B1 is superior, but still an entry level PSU. If you want a solid one, look at the B2 or G2 version.

Thanks for the info! I'm putting together a budget build gaming/work computer so I can't afford to spend too much. I'll probably go with the cheaper priced of the two EVGA PSU's with the knowledge you provided in your post. Thanks again!

The two PSU's use identical components. The components are of mid-grade quality.

The assembly of these units is pretty good.

Voltage regulation is about average for both units.

Ripple suppression is not the best for the 500 plus PSU, and the 500B (bronze) PSU has marginally better ripple suppression.

Overall, both units are of average quality and performance. The reliability for both is also average (primarily due to quality of components used).

But the 500B PSU has slightly better performance, and is slightly more power efficient than the 500 unit. So the 500B unit is the better choice of the two PSU's.
