Hi all,

I just got my CPU today and I am planning on building this week. This is my first build so I am trying to be extremely cautious.
Here is a link to my build:

I have a few questions to ask some pros before I start my build
1. Should I boot up into the bios before I install everything in the case, I have heard this is a good idea just to make sure everything is working.
2. If I do this should I set up and attach the water cooler. I know I am not supposed to turn it on without any type of heatsink, but it seems like a lot of work to set up the water cooler outside the case then set it up again inside the case.
3. Should I try to update the bios before installing an OS. I have heard mixed things on this and was wondering if there were pros or cons on this.
4. Any other tips in general?

Thanks for your time I really appreciate it. I am very excited to start this build.

Solution
I wouldn't. Granted, it a bit of work to have to remove one or two things if something is wrong, but that's rarely the case. Most build issues can be resolved without removing anything. I'd install the full built, then boot to the bios to ensure settings, select default or optimal settings, reboot into bios, make any custom selections you desire, make sure all devices are reporting correctly including drives and RAM speed, timings, profiles, etc, and then proceed with my install of the OS.

Solution
booting into the bios does two things for new builders. one it shows the builder the bios rev of the mb and the user at that time can update the bios file if the mb is a non asus mb without the usb flashback. the other issue it lets the builder watch the cpu temps from inside the bios and can see if there cooling on right before they install the os. it also gives the tim paste a little time to heat cure at low cpu.
