I just upgraded to a i7-4790k and was wondering about TEMPS

I just installed my new i7-4790k and have been sitting in the bios for about an hour waiting for my win 8.1 iso to download.

The idle temp climbed and then was steady at 40c.

Is this a normal temp for this CPU with the stock INTEL fan and heatsink?

Solution
Idle temperatures are a really poor gauge of whether your HSF install is right or wrong... unless something has really gone horribly wrong and you end up with 60+C idle.

If you want to know if the HSF is really doing its job, you need to do a full-load test.
