My motherboards bios stopped showing my SSD and was failing to start because it was trying to boot off a drive with no windows. I attempted to fix this by going into the BIOS and redoing the boot priority. no SSD is in the boot list. but when I check the SATA slots in the bios it says the drive is there. I can get my computer to start by when I press F11, in the boot list it shows my SSD. and I can boot it off there. I think it would be too much of a hassle to have to press F11 every time.

Could it be that I need to update my bios?

My specs:
Motherboard:MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
SSD:Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
(I don't think there is anything wrong with the SSD)

Thanks

Solution
I had a similar problem of not my SSD not being listed in my BIOS as an option for a boot drive and so I worked around it by disconnecting all the other drives and rebooting. It then forced the BIOS to see it and I selected it as my priority boot drive. I then reconnected all the other drives and no problems since. Hope this works for you.
