wondering about multiple GPUs and compatibility issues (not in sli/crossfire).

I have a EVGA gt 740 4GB card that is not sufficient for running newer games. I want to get a gtx 750 ti and KEEP my 4gb card running on my system if possible. My power supply will support this, but I'm unsure what kinds of compatibility issues may arise in terms of other hardware or drivers.

Can I run these two cards on my system simultaneously without much tweaking?

What benefits, if any are there to running these two cards concurrently (not in sli or cf)? I was just thinking about multi-monitor purposes initially...

If I opted for an AMD GPU would there be additional issues running my Gt 740 at the same time?

MoBo: ga 970A-DS3P
500 W PSU
16GB RAM
AMD FX 8320 3.5GHz

None really. The 750 should handle 3 or 4 already, so unless you need more then that the only thing the 740 will do is add heat to the case and to your power bill. There shouldn't be any driver issues. Only way you'd have a driver issue with an AMD and Nvidia card is if you had an OS that can only load one display driver like Vista. (XP and win7+ don't have that issue.) I wouldn't bother keeping it in your system. Run the monitors off the 750, keep the 740 for either a backup or sell it for money.
