I recieved a asus vn289h 28 inch monitor for my brithday, yay, but here's the things:
1. it's glossy, i didnt know that
2. all image and text edges look fuzzy

i've tried everything to fix the images, but it might just be the monitor, i feel bad for my parents and don't want to be a pain, but i'ts pretty bad

not really important for you ...and its not related to your problem , its just specification i found on this model

the asus vn289h suppose to be very good ...so you really have a problem ...but do not forget this model not support 3D

so rma it as soon as possible

check if everything is well connected , if the cable is not shaffing or damage
check if your gpu card work well too

depending on OS, set clear type or for 7 right click on desktop goto screen resolution and click make text and other items larger or smaller then click adjust clear type text.

it will walk you through adjusting the monitor. I assume of course you properly calibrated the monitor adjusting contrast brightness etc, some monitors and televisions have a sharpness adjustment and that will screw with your image being blurry.
