Gigabyte UD5H Z97x
i7-4790k
GTX 970 4gb FTW ACX 2.0 SC (pisses me off there's now a SSC version)
8GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
Corsair GS 700 Watt PSU
250GB Samsung 850 EVO
1TB 7200 RPM HDD
Windows 8.1 64 Bitt

My plan is to eventually get a SLI build going, two GTX 970's.

Can anyone here confirm that my particular PSU, which can be found from the link below, will work with two EVGA GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0's?

My fear is it can't because of the required PCI-e x16 connectors, and the required adapters.

if the psu does not have the needed connectors then i would not use it for 970 sli. the adapters are suspect and may not provide the needed power. theoretically, you have enough power to do it but not the right connectors.

try any one of these psu's http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr%2Cevga-power-supply-120g10650xr%2Cevga-power-supply-120g10750xr/ each will run dual 970's and has the right connectors. all modular and 2 of them are even gold rated :)

Sorry let me specify.

The build I listed is actually the build I'm running right now. All of these parts were already purchased and put together. This isn't a compatibility check, more so a "can I even do this with the given components?" type of deal.

Glad you looked into it for me, someone was trying to tell me there was some way using special chords on the connectors to support extra pins or something, a type of converter i guess.

But glad to know! I'll get a new PSU when I snag a new GPU as well. Thanks!

they make 4 pin molex to pcie connector adapters. many psu's and gpu's even come with them. they combine 2 4 pin molex into 1 6+2 pin but they are sketchy and not recommended. you're friend is not lying to you about them just may not know how bad they are to use.
