above is the link to the main forum, so you can see the 'current' parts there. as i was looking over the part selection i was curious about upping the PSU, the one i have selected currently, is the Corsair RM Series RM850 ( http://www.microcenter.com/product/418824/RM_Series_RM850_850_Watt_ATX_Modular_Power_Supply ) i decided to see what there was at the 1000 Watt range, which is when i found this ( http://www.microcenter.com/product/415150/V1000_V_Series_1000_Watt_Modular_ATX_Power_Supply ) its 30$ more, 80 plus golld certified, same as the RM850, and for all intents and purposes, is straight upgrade. im wondering if anyone has/ or has used the PSU, and can say weather this a good PSU for upping available system power.

thanks in advance.

interesting, your bring up data that i was not aware of, but am now reviewing quite diligently. i was not aware of the 'tier' system for PSU's, and had assumed that because both the PSU's were of the same '80 PLUS' rating, that they were similar, save for total power. with that in mind, i think ill go for the V 1K, because even if it is 30$ more, it jumps me to tier 1, and it will give me some extra head room, which i will take, have already experienced a PSU shitting out on me once.

The 80 plus rating and such, is strictly a way to tell how power efficient they are. Not their quality. All PSUs only provide around +/-80% of the power they consume at the wall socket to the PC. The rest is loss in heat and capacitive & inductive reactance and such... know as power factor.

true, but given the info you provided me already, the V1000 looks like the better choice for me.
