My pc boots from DVD .iso image quite well and of course, from hard disk but not from the USB flash drive.
Have a bootable USB of Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon 64 bit with UUI and and YUMI multi boot installer and neither boots.
Have tested with MEMTEST86+ and not boot either.

BIOS boot prioritIes are correct, checked several times: AWARD PHOENIX BIOS shows
"Removable" instead of USB.

Any suggestions?
thanks

Downloaded the .ISO from this site: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php. Is this the correct download?

Not sure what the exact issue you are getting. I needed to test my RAM for errors so I used Auto-installer to make a bootable USB but I could not boot into Memtest86+ through the USB. I tried again with another USB and it wasn't bootable too. One particular thing was that both of the USB keys that did not work were USB 3.0 16GB Flash Drives. Both were formatted as Fat32 but did not work. Then I found my 4GB USB 2.0 Flahsh Drive that I knew worked. Installed Memtest86+ on to the drive and succesfully booted into Memtest86+.
