PCI Express 3.0x16 Card work on 2.0x16?

Hi, I have this http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-SATA-6Gbps-Motherboards-GA-970A-DS3P/dp/B00CX4MUCC
I was going to buy a MSI 970, just wanted to assure that this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832&cm_re=gtx_970-_-14-127-832-_-Product will work with my motherboard.

Yes, it will work fine. For all intents and purposes, PCI-E 2.0 x16 is equivalent to PCI-E 3.0 x8, and only dual GPU cards will be bottlenecked by this.

Like the others have said: Yes and you'll see practically no performance loss with a PCI-E 2.0 motherboard.
One point I'll make is that some motherboards can have issues with new cards, so I'll suggest you update the motherboard BIOS (if possible) before installing the new card, even if you purchased the 'board recently it's possible updates are available.
Bear in mind, flashing the BIOS is a potentially risky operation, be sure you know exactly how to proceed and as my old trainer was fond of saying: "if in doubt, do nowt." (If you do not know what you are doing, do nothing).

Thanks man, now I have good confidence in the card.
Will I have any issues with those yellow tab like things next to the PCI on the Graphics card?
