I am building a beastly new gaming PC and would like to give streaming a try.

My current PC just can't keep up anymore, but I was thinking about but throwing a capture card in it and making it my streaming PC. However I have heard that you still need a pretty "beefy" computer even for an intermediate streaming rig.

Current Rig (What will become the streaming PC)
-Windows 7 64bit
-2.7GHz i7 quadcore (old I know...)
-6Gb DDR3 Triple channel RAM
-GTX 275 (again old, but also I don't think yo need a GPU for an intermediate streaming pc, just the capture card).
-Asus Mobo, don't remember the exact model but I believe it's a P6T Deluxe V2

Simply put, will this rig suffice for an intermediary streaming PC, or do I need something beefier?

Solution
depends on what you are streaming 1080p 30fps definitely not enough. 720p 60fps with a serious overclock yes, 720p 30fps should't be a problem. gpu doesn't matter my streaming pc has a gt 210. You just will need a capt card i recommend a pci e one because usb2.0 has issues and more than likely ur mobo will not have usb 3.0
