Cpu instal to motherboard quick help pleaseeee ?

So ive got my I5 4590 and my ASrock pro 4 h97m motherboard , this is my first ever attempt at a build so a bit nervous ive opened the the cpu section via the latching handle and placed the cpu in , then returned the cover to where it should be ( the fork like par cupping the screw ? ) then went to pull the latching lever down to secure it but it feels rather tight , is this normal ? please help

Just make sure the notch in the CPU is lined up correctly in the CPU socket. It does take some force, but if you feel like you're going to break something then stop and triple check everything. The troubleshooting checklist in the stickies at the top of the forum can help you avoid some of the most common first-time builder mistakes.
