i have an xps 420 with the q6600 and an r9-270 gaming at 1080p and it runs most everything at high settings fine. i'm sure the newest greatest games won't do this but recent games are having no problems at all. load times can be long but hey it is an old cpu but once it gets going it's pretty awesome. i don't have any specific fps readings but games like battlefield3, alien isolation, COD series and other assorted shooters play at 1080p at high without any crazy stuttering or such. i have seen no issues so have not bothered to benchmark the system.
Not me, a friend who plays flight sims and racing games on his Q6600/GTX760 rig. He only gets any problems with a Beta test game (unfinished and still in development), everything else, he says, plays smoothly at or around 60 FPS.
