Serious bottlenecking issue with GTX 970 and AMD FX 8350

Ok so I just recently upgraded to the Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB from my old GTX 760 4GB, and I was expecting at least a noticeable FPS increase in my games, well that was not the case at all. I got LESS FPS in some games, and the as same as before I upgraded in others?? I looked around and saw the whole bottlenecking thing that can happen and decided to test my system out, and I think I may have a bottleneck. My GPU usage always stayed at around 30-40%, and my CPU usages on each core were radically different. One would have almost no usage and another would almost be 100%. Do I need to upgrade because I spent a lot of my money already :( Here is my specs:
GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB

CPU - AMD FX-8350 8-Core

RAM - 16GB

MOBO - ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 AM3+, AMD 990X, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, ATX, AMD Motherboard

OS - Wind 8.1 Pro 64bit

PSU - Antec ATX-12V 750W

I have been testing games like Space Engineers, Arma 2: OA, Arma 3, Contagion, Minecraft, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Dayz... I'm playing all of these games at 1920x1080

While running these games, open task manager and check to see how high the CPU usage is. Then, check what programs are using what amount of CPU resources. If the games are using a lot of CPU, then it is a CPU bottleneck. If it's some other program that's using like 20% CPU then you should figure out what it is and perhaps close it (if it's not an important process).

There might be the problem. Most of the games you listed are very CPU demanding. AMD FX cpu's perform very bad in them. I still don't see how you get LESS FPS on your 970, than your old 760.
You probably need to update your drivers if you haven't already or update BIOS.
What exact model of a power supply do you have?

Believe me, I've tried every driver I can, downgraded to older ones and tried the newest ones available. Nothing changed. And again believe me, I'm just as dissappointed that I'm getting less FPS :( And I've tested Garrys Mod too, is that CPU intensive too?

Well for starters temps are real low, so that shouldn't be a problem. And I tested the percent of usage on my CPU with MSI Afterburner and Speed fan and Open Hardware monitor. most of the time my CPU is working harder, but in games like Arma, my GPU is working harder??? Which is super strange to me.

Can you at least open task manager and see if it's the game taking up the CPU power?

Whoops, accidentally picked you as best solution, but I just did what you asked and my CPU usage was at 40% and it looked like all my cores were equally being used. Then my GPU usage was at 30-40% still??
