New SSD detected by BIOS but not showing up in My Computer

I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD which I installed today.

It came with a disc which installs the 'Samsung Magician" and the "Samsung Data Migration Software"
The Samsung Magician installed, but the Migration software stopped on install at 1%?

The SSD itself is installed and shows up in the BIOS, but there is no drive in My Computer.

I've gone into disc management but there is no option anywhere to create a partition.

Also, once I have all this sorted out, how do I move my OS over to the SSD? I only have 1 install disc and that has been used on my HDD, do I have to buy Windows again?

help!

You should be able to right-click on the drive to create a partition in Disk Management. Which version of Windows do you have? Windows 7 cannot be transferred, but Windows 8 can be. It's a pain regardless. The migration software is meant to transfer everything, but I'm not sure why it's not working. Is the SSD at least as big as the HDD?

I've been looking in Disc Management for a while, the SSD is down the bottom with a black line instead of a blue one, and it says "Unallocated".

How do I go about partitioning it?

The SSD is 250gb, my HDD is 1tb.

All that appears when I right click on the black-line part of the disc is "New Simple Volume, Properties, and Help".
New Spanned Volume and New Striped Volume are greyed out.

Right clicking on the part that says Disk 1 (beside the line part) displays "Convert to Dynamic Disc, Convert to GPT Disc, Properties and Help". New Spanned and New Striped are still greyed out.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit

OK, I've got it now, the device has been partitioned and formatted, and I can see it in My Computer, but how do I go about transferring my OS?

Can I reuse my old Windows disc? Do I have to buy a new one? Or can I use the Data Migration Software / other software (which still isn't loading)?

Try this:

You could first try to use your original Windows 7 disk, but I'm not sure if it will work. I understand the activation is tied to the motherboard (which you're not changing), so it might work. If not, though, you'll simply get an error stating that it is not a genuine copy of Windows. At that point, you can call Microsoft directly, and, from what I've heard, they might be flexible enough to get you re-activated.
