Looking for a good way to get WiFi with Asus M5A99FX PRO R2

I have tried using a TP-Link Wireless adapter and am not getting the quality of WiFi I would like. It has a poor connection that frequently drops. I would like something to be able to play games on, with a steady connection.

I have tried some things on this list with very little improvement unfortunately. I have a laptop that is able to get a stronger signal than my new computer. Could there be some problem with compatibility with my motherboard?
