(Edited)Okay, recently i decided to build my first PC, and i feel as if i chose a pretty difficult build to do my first PC on and i think i may have a couple of parts that wont be compatible with the case i purchased. So long story short, I need an opinion on this build and i need a very detailed and solid tutorial on how to build this PC. Thanks

Build:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
RAM: G Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Graphics Card: Radeon R9 270x 2GB
Case: NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply: Insignia 520W PC Power Supply
Operating System: Windows 7 (OEM)(64-Bit)
Any information or help would be great(thoughts, tips, etc.) as i have put a pretty good amount of money in this build and i dont want to see anything go wrong. Thanks again

purely for gaming heh? then I would highly consider an i5 build if I were you, i5 decimates FXes hands down, that way you gonna save by getting cheaper motherboard, won't need an aftermarket cooler etc, also drop out the optical driver and W8.1, zone into which you're entering, you won't need em, all cash saved invest in better GPU, R9 270X is decent, but isnt enough, aim for R9 290/GTX 970

Yeah, not aiming for a supercomputer or anything but i need something better than the one i have now, which plays on lowest settings at about 15 FPS. :pfff: So i should go intel for gaming, and i wont even need an optical driver at all? And i havent even looked at W8.1 yet, but you suggest W7.1 over 8? I plan on upgrading my GPU in the future but for the time being i think ill bare with this one

Carry the OS from your old PC to new one.Yeah in modern world you do not need optical driver. i5 is the only real gaming CPUs family, absolute monopoly for the intel.Anything below intel is just FX-6300 and G3258 bashing eachother,in that lower price range it's about the sheer power of 6 core decently overclockable but dated FX versus high single thread performace carrying 4th gen overclockable 20th pentium anniversary special addition, punching above its weight dual-core pentium.

Exactly what I was going to say,

OP, do whatever you can to get a 970. U will never regret spending that extra money on such a wonderful card. The performance/value/low power consumption/very low heat just baffles me. I would expect this card to cost $430 or something. Don't get the 290 if heat will be an issue for u since it's about 20 degrees C hotter than the 970 and a bit weaker I believe, ur room may become more warm. Also, 970 requires less power, so u could save money on the PSU. I would recommend the XFX 550W or something similar from Seasonic or XFX (manufactured by SEAsonic). I wouldn't recommend going for Tier III PSus such as Corsair CX series since the PSU is probably the most important part of a build.

Well my issue with that, is i already bought the 270x from Best Buy, and i dont believe the cashier gave me a receipt. The only reason i bought it at Best Buy is because i got it for cheaper than i found it online($175). But, i did get one of those customer rewards cards, do you think they would let me return it?

Yes first of all the CPU and mobo is not compatible since the mobo is made for AM3+ chipset. Tell me ur budget and I will try to make a build for u :)

oh and also, u can sell the 270x on a forum or something and use the money towards getting a better card

Ahhhhh, well I would put it around $800, just bought the mobo too, gonna have to cancel that one.:pfff: The only thing i would have to keep would be the GPU, case, and power supply.

for the price i could get build with GTX 970 going, your build is extremely overpriced, ffs.. PSU for 70$..only 80+ bronze for such outrageous price.. you kidding me?2GB card for 170$ ffs..,your RAM is 13$ more expensive and way lower MHz as we all see,105$ for a mobo and an overclockable CPU but no aftermarket cooler.. are you nuts? it wouldnt handle OCing then! what's the point of paying extra for OCable processor and extra pricy motherboard then?

Sorry to say but this person doesnt seem to have much knowledge about computers.

Im beginning to see now that i could easily have a GTX 970 build for an $800 bracket. And i may just keep the case and start from scratch again, i didnt do too much research before buying a GPU and the 270x was the most powerful one at the store, so i bought it, thinking i got a good deal and it turns out thats not the case
