Asus h87 plus bios help

Im building a computer with the aus h87 plus motherboard and the intel i5 4690k processor and it says i need a bios update for the processor to work. can the processor work without the update? does this motherboard have flash back bios so i can update? and does the bios need a cpu to work?

The bios update is required for the system to work with that cpu. The board does not support bios flashback. Why are you putting an unlocked cpu made for overclocking on a non overclocking board? It's a waste. If you are not overclocking get the non k version and a h97 board. If you do want to oc get a z97 board.
