Hi,

I've been recently choosing a number of components to suit a new gaming PC build and got caught in the middle of it, I am unsure whether I'm getting the best I can for the money so I'll post what I've already found and any assistance would be grateful.

Motherboard: Mod 1150 ASUS Z97 MAXIMUS VII RANGER
CPU: Intel Core i5 i5-4690
GPU: Asus GTX 970 Strix DirectCU II OC or MSI GTX 970 GAMING Twin Frozr V
PSU: still undecided
RAM: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4)
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 300R windowed
HDD: WD 1 TB 3.5-inch Internal Hard Drive - Black
Operating system: could I use the one on my old pc? didn't come with a disk. (windows 7)

I won't be OCing so I didn't choose K version CPU, do you think I could get a cheaper Motherboard?

I think I might go with the H97-PLUS, how many fans can you fit on this board? and thank you for the quick reply.

Thank you, also should I get the Asus or MSI GPU.
Corsair CX750 Builder Series will 750W be enough for this system?

750W is more than enough but the CX series uses poor capacitors. Get a 650W XFX or 620W Seasonic power supply.
