ASUS P5B Flashing

My P5B (not the P5B Deluxe) board supports my new quad-core, but I get the (now famous) Intel Microcode Error upon boot. Currently the mobo has v0211 of the AMI BIOS and the Asus website starts at v0509 for new flashing but that seems like quite the jump, especially since there are note saying "before flashing to XYYZ, make sure you're running at least XXXZ."

My concern (which I have not been able to resolve by beating the snot out of Google Search) is that there may be pre-requisite versions between 0211 and 0509. I have seen posts on this very forum indicating versions in the 03xx and 04xx range, but no downloads for them.

So, my question is this: can I safely flash right up from 0211 to 0509 or are there intermediate versions I need first (and if so, where are they if not on asus.com)?

Also, since I am NOT running Windows, and I got this machine from an estate settlement (I'm not the original owner / purchaser) Asus is being less than helpful.

To be clear, the machine boots, and the existing 0211 BIOS correctly ID's the chip as QC and the full 6 GB of RAM, and the OS boots and runs without a hitch or complaint, but that initial "Press F1" error is a P.I.T.A. I'd like to resolve quickly without bricking my desktop.
