Is the graphics card supposed to snap back into place?

I am using the asus gtx 770 and the msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard. I snapped the pci slot clip back and slipped the gpu in. It is a very snug fit. Is the clip on the pci slot supposed to snap back to its original position or not? Please excuse my noobiness this is my first build.

Yes, there should be a locking mechanism. So, be careful if and when you remove the GPU. Make sure to unlock it first and then pull it out.
