I have windows 7, 32 bit. When I open Heroes and Generals it says that I need shader model 3 and it wont even open Team Fortress 2 my graphics card is a gigabyte R7 240. Is there a driver I need to install?

Solution

Won't matter anyway, as your running 32Bit Windows, which is LIMITED to 3GB of memory, games (NO WINDOWS, NO DRIVERS, NO ANTIVIRUS, NO ANYTHING ELSE RUNNING) need 4GB normally. You need to use Windows East Transfer (just SEARCH through the Orb in the bottom left corner) and back up to a External HDD, then reinstall with Windows 64bit edition. If your using a OEM only licensed for 32Bit, then you will need to BUY a new copy of Windows to do this.

Second a R7 240 is a VERY LOW END card NOT for gaming. It is a general purpose GPU and will suck for the games even on LOW SETTINGS. Depending on the rest of your settings of your hardware (download and run SPECCY then copy and paste the first tab here) you...

As with the MANY OTHER POSTS HERE of people NOT having the money to PAY TO PLAY (PCs are expensive!) your BEST alternative might be to switch to console as they are cheaper and can run all the games, new titles AND even play some at 1080p High settings 60FPS (aka Like I saw on Youtube! alot of people say) http://www.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_Native_Resolutions_and_Framerates

Hey bud i think it is a problem with an older motherboard with PCI 1 and trying to install a newer card PCI X 3. What you have to do is a custom install off the drivers and not a express install. if that dont work may have to get a PCI express 2.0 card and still do a express install. The same ploblem happened to me and it was saying error 10 standard video graphics (VGA) where the only drivers it would install. i think it may have been a compatability issue with the motherboard

1) Incorrect, having a PCI 1 or 3 doesn't affect the 'drivers'. Your mixing terms up incorrectly. PCI slot standards are the physical connections and how it connects the hardware layers together, NOTHING TO DO WITH DRIVERS.
2) If there is a software layer issue, then the drivers being installed may be a issue for MANY resons, most notably THAT YOUR CARD you used is NOT supported anymore. That is a issue as well, when buying without any real tech knowledge
3) do NOT post to ANSWERED (i.e. CLOSED) or NECRO posts (the OP was not sitting waiting SEVEN months for your post to 'finally fix' the issue). These posts are DEAD and shouldn't be posted with your incorrect and misguided BAD advice.
