Hi All,

About a month ago I had some great help from "tea urchin" in creating a list of parts for my first build (Here is the link to that thread -> LINK).

Budget I have is around £1000 to £1500 (which includes a monitor).

Here is the link to the current build;

Point of this thread is to get some final help toward the build about anything I should perhaps, change or include as it's been a month before last reviewing this.

All help welcomed. Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the recommendation. Could I ask what the value and "precious metal rating" mean exactly. I would assume initially that gold is better than bronze but in what way?

Also, you mention the xfx I have chosen is modular, does that mean that cables aren't already sticking out of the psu already and I can choose which ones I require. (There won't be other cables that aren't needed but are stuck there for a non-modular psu, thus are just in the way).

The different (metals) represent more efficient power going to the system, I'm no expert on psu's but that's what I hear. Modular just means that not all the power cables are permanently connect to your power supply. SO, all the extra cables you don't need can be leaft out to make the build process easier.

Ah fair enough. Well xfx have a gold rated 650W for an extra £12. If the efficiency is to the point where that extra cost is worth it (small extra) then perhaps I'll choose that. Hopefully someone could shine a bit more light.
