Built my own computer, can't connect to internet

Whenever i click on the computer icon (that has an red cross over it) goes right to troubleshooting and says (titled) "Install a driver for your network adapter" wtf does this mean? How am I supposed to download drivers when it's not allowing me on the internet. Please help, im getting very frustrated.

you might have not installed your LAN driver, go to control panel>network and sharing center>change adapter setting. see if there is a LAN adapter installed, if not, install it from your motherboard disk.hope this will help you
