Problem with 3monitor setup r9 280x

Hello Tom's Hardware!

So, I'm currently using a 3 monitor setup for my r9 280x CFx. Worked fine the first 2 months. Then a buddy was here borrowing one of my monitors during a miniLAN. And now it doesn't want to connect again...

Anyone else had this problem? Is there something really obvious that I'm missing here?

Make sure everything is plugged in, turned on (very common mistake...) brightness up, really simple things. Then if none of that is working, right click on your desktop, select Screen Resolution, and there should be 2 or 3 monitors shown. If theres 3, one should be black, just click on it, and on the "Multiple Displays" option at the bottom, you select Extend Desktop to this display. If you only see 2, select "Detect" right next to the 2 monitors shown in the window.
If this doesnt work, just tell me and we will find a solution :)

So I've done everything in that list without any success! When I do the last thing you mentioned (extend desktop to this display) I get a message saying that "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings."

I think Im going to try and switch some cables. See if that makes a difference :)

Okay, if the cables dont work, I want to see if the computer knows its plugged in by going into Device Manager (Open Control Panel then click on Device Manager at the top if your using Win7/8). Strange how it used to work, but now it doesnt, Im no AMD expert, but could it have something to do with Eyefinity? Ive heard of many problems with that.
Im a Nvidia fan from birth, never had anything AMD :p

Got it working! Turns out my friend did a very harsh bend on my hdmi cable and damaged it when he was disconnecting his computer. So now he has bought me a new one and it's working again :) thank you very much for your help Jonesie995 !
