I am building a moderate budget gaming computer that I plan on overclocking later on. The build is an Intel i5 4690K, ASUS Z97-A motherboard, a Samsung 840 Evo SSD, and some generic 1TB HDD. The build is sort of an evolving build as I will be adding parts like graphics cards and ram slowly. I will run an older Nivida graphics card to start but I will get an AMD r9 280x as quickly as I can afford it. Eventually I plan on running dual graphics cards. My question is what is a decent but affordable power supply that will let me achieve running my small graphics card right away but allow me to upgrade to dual r9s and OC later on?

Incredible starting point for a build. I have both the 4690k and Z97-A (sexy board that OCs well). If you plan on doing SLI in the future, I'd say go for the 970 since it's like 30 degrees cooler on load when compared to high-end AMD cards. That's a crazy difference. The 970 card also pulls much less power, and only requires 500W (with tons of headroom included, enough for overclocking and everything). Here are three of the best choices PSU for a single 970:

However, since you said you're going to do SLI, go with a 700W-750W first, here are a few 750W:

Thank you! I will probably go with the 750watt rosewill. Will I have any problems if I start with a basic nivida 240 gt until I upgrade to a 970? Also while I'm asking questions. What would be good ram for this build? Is it worth getting 8gb stick to fill up the mother board and getting something over 1600 to OC if it is just a gaming computer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
